The board members of Spine HK Foundation play a crucial role in guiding and overseeing the charity’s operations. They provide strategic direction, ensure legal compliance, manage finances, and actively support fundraising efforts. Their dedicated leadership is instrumental in ensuring the charity operates efficiently and achieves its mission effectively.
Dr. Paul Fong, D.C.
Founder & Chairman
Dr. Fong, with over two decades of experience in private practice focused on spinal health, identified a critical gap in awareness, especially among children. This led him to establish Spine HK Foundation as a S88 charity in Hong Kong. His vision is driven by the belief that educating individuals and parents about spinal health is crucial for overall well-being and child development. With a committed team of board members and volunteers, the charity aims to make spinal health a collective priority in Hong Kong, promoting regular spine checks and early detection of conditions like scoliosis.
Dr. Fong holds degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho, USA, Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jinan University, China, and Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic College West, USA. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Professional Chiropractors, and an active public speaker and educator on health topics across various platforms.
He enjoys an active lifestyle with his family, participating in sports like high-intensity interval training, hiking, football, and skiing.
Ms. Linda Lo
Linda brings over a decade of experience in brand building, fundraising, and community engagement to her role as a Board Member of Spine HK Foundation. Her extensive involvement includes serving on the Board of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation, where she contributed to strategic planning and fundraising initiatives. She has also supported youth development and fundraising efforts as a Project Consultant for Kids4Kids.
Active in her children’s school community, Linda served as Secretary and Vice President of the Parent-Teacher Association at Chinese International School. She successfully led fundraising efforts, including a notable gala event, to support school endowment funds. Linda holds degrees in Economics from the University of Sydney and Law from the University of London.
Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Linda understands the importance of maintaining good spinal health, having ensured her own children received regular spinal checks and care.
Honorary Advisors
The Honorary Advisory Board of the Spine HK Foundation is composed of experienced professionals and passionate advocates who bring together a wealth of expertise and insight to the charity mission. The Honorary Advisors are pivotal in guiding the organization’s strategic direction, ensuring it remains impactful, sustainable, and aligned with its core values.
Dr. Gigi Hsin-Pang Che Kwan
Dr. Gigi Pang is an accomplished social entrepreneur known for her ability to balance family, business, and community work. In 2021, she was recognized with the Asian Social Caring Female Leadership Award and named one of Hong Kong’s 300 Most Powerful People by Gafencu magazine.
As the founder of JunCulture (2018) and Jun’s Embroidery (2019), Dr. Pang empowers underprivileged women by combining traditional embroidery with modern design. JunCulture preserves intangible cultural heritage, while Jun’s Embroidery promotes embroidery as a therapeutic art form.
Dr. Pang is a dedicated leader in government and non-profit organizations. She is the Founding Chairlady of the Golden Bauhinia Women Entrepreneur Charitable Foundation and Vice-President of Elsie Tu Education Foundation–New Youth Hong Kong. Her efforts bridge cultural and socio-economic gaps, particularly in women’s and youth development.
Ms. Hsieh Cheng Lu
(Stage Name: Hsieh Ling Ling)
Ms. Hsieh Cheng Lu, also known by her stage name Hsieh Ling Ling, is a celebrated Taiwanese actress and the chairperson of an investment corporation. Her stellar acting career earned her the Asian Film Festival Award and two Golden Horse Awards.
At the height of her fame, Ms. Hsieh boldly decided to step away from the limelight to focus on her family, raising five accomplished children. Despite her devotion to family, she has remained dedicated to self-improvement, excelling in English, calligraphy, painting, and dance.
Ms. Hsieh is a passionate philanthropist. She has organized dance performances and art exhibitions to support underprivileged communities, including raising funds for hereditary breast cancer research, Yan Oi Tong, Po Leung Kuk, AIDS Concern, U-life, Save the Children, The Women’s Foundation HK, Special Olympics, and Tencent’s 99 Charity Day initiatives. Under her birth name, Hsieh Cheng Lu, she has also financed school construction and supported education for impoverished children in China.
In 2016, she completed the prestigious CEO Program at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, underscoring her commitment to lifelong learning. Ms. Hsieh’s journey from a celebrated actress to a role model in family life and philanthropy exemplifies her optimism, dedication, and ability to inspire others.
Ms. Shirley Loo
Ms. Shirley Loo is a leading figure in family and parenting education in Hong Kong. She frequently delivers lectures on family harmony, gender relationships, and positive parenting, while serving on multiple government committees.
Her contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including the Bronze Bauhinia Star (2018), Justice of the Peace appointment (2008), and the Hong Kong Medal of Honor (2005). She was also named a Most Successful Woman by Jessica magazine in 2020. She was also awarded the Honorary Fellow at Hong Kong Education University in 2020.
An acclaimed author, Ms. Loo’s book 知己莫若我 won the Best Publishing Award in Psychology and Self-Help at the 2021 Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards. She continues to inspire audiences as a writer and speaker.
Ms. Juanna Yin
Ms. Juanna Yin is currently a Director of the Chat Union Group. She holds JD, MBA and BSc degrees, and has accumulated many years of experience in the management of electrical and mechanical engineering. She has led the group in participating in major projects such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Hong Kong International Airport, and various public and private hospitals.
Ms. Yin is enthusiastic about public welfare. She has served as Vice President of the Centum Charitas Foundation, promoting youth development, elderly care culture, and education in AI and ESG. She has also personally led students on exchange programs to Mainland China and participated in “be ANGEL action” activities, delivering care to grassroots elderly.
As the Executive Director of the Aspiration Foundation, she established the “2nd Chance Medicine Scholarship” to nurture compassionate medical professionals. She also serves as a mentor in the Child Development Fund and the Strive and Rise Programme, supporting the growth of underprivileged children.
Ms. Yin is also active in various social and educational organizations, including serving as a school supervisor of Sheng Kung Hui schools, and participating in the Women’s Federation, the Federation of Industries, and the Business Environment Council. Additionally, she is an accredited mediator of the Hong Kong Mediation Accreditation Association, dedicated to promoting social harmony and non-litigation dispute resolution.
